Laptop Review: A Review of the Compaq Presario V5101US Laptop

Looking for a laptop for school, work, or just to use around the house? This laptop is great and the price cant be beat.

Being a full-time college student requires me to be on the computer for hours and hours at a time. Until recently I was doing all my homework on a desktop computer which was killing my back (spending 9 hours straight without breaks will do that to you). So my boyfriend bought me a laptop to make things easier for me. He got me a Compaq Presario V5101US and it is simply the best computer I’ve ever worked on.

So what does it have to offer?

The Compaq Presario V5101US has a lot to offer:

* Processor: AMD Sempron 3300+
* Processor Speed: 2.0 GHZ
* Memory (RAM): 512 MB
* Hard Drive Size: 60 GB
* Screen Size: 15 inches
* Primary Drive: CD-RW/DVD

What I like about this model:

* It already had wireless built-in so it was really easy to setup and get on the internet.
* The battery lasts for quite awhile and charges up in no time (around 30-60 minutes).
* The computer has a powerful enough processor to handle everything I’m doing for school, which often requires having several applications running at once.
* It’s very easy to carry around because it only weighs 6.4 pounds.
* It came with Norton Antivirus Software.
* The price (less than $600).

What I hated about this model:

* I hated the fact that the computer came loaded down with a bunch of junk. There are tons of games and programs I don’t need and would have rather just gotten the software and had the option to install these things myself. This is unfortunately something you have to deal with when buying a Compaq or HP computer, be it a laptop or desktop. I have been considering reformatting the hard drive so I can just have what I need on here.

Who would this computer be great for?

* College students would greatly benefit from the Compaq Presario v5101us, especially if they lived in a dorm. They would be able to watch DVDs, do word processing, do research, use it all over the campus (if the college has wireless access), play games, keep in touch with family and friends back home, etc. Everything they need comes installed and is ready to use right out of the box.

* People that often work outside of their office could easily take their work with them. Whether they are taking their work home or going on a business trip and need to be able to pull up a Power Point file, do work in their hotel room, or simply have something to keep them entertained.
